CHURCH OF SAINT MICHEL

Originally, a church was dedicated to Saint John (certainly the castle church). A second church, this time parish, very close, was dedicated to the Archangel Michael (apse still visible, taken from a later construction). In the 13th century, thanks to the fortification of the place, the castle church was enlarged and became a parish church. The cult of Saint Michael supplanted that of Saint John. The building, originally Romanesque, has undergone multiple adjustments or restorations, moving it ever further away from the original layout.
