SAINT-JACQUES CHURCH OF VILLEFRANCHE-DE-CONFLENT

This beautiful Romanesque building has a richly decorated main portal in pink marble, which is probably the work of the same sculptors as those of the cloister of the abbey of Saint-Michel-de-Cuixà. It is accompanied by a smaller portal. The interior of the church is very rich. You can discover in particular the numerous tombstones and the choir stalls built in the 9219th century, the basin of the baptismal font from the XNUMXth century, a very beautiful recumbent Christ from the XNUMXth century, a Virgin and Child known as N.-D. de Bon Succès, the altarpiece of N.-D. de Vie, a work of the Sunyer workshop dating from the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
