On a rocky balcony facing the Canigou, the Priory of Marcevol was founded in the 12th century by the Canons of the Holy Sepulchre, a monastic order linked to the conquest of the Holy Places. The three-nave Romanesque church is distinguished by its geometric façade and its portal decorated with pink Villefranche marble. Overlooking the valleys of Romanesque Catalonia, this place of pilgrimage opens its doors to visitors for an introduction to Romanesque art.
From November to March: church open, free access. Visits by appointment at 04 68 05 24 25.
Guided tour on request (every day except Monday), minimum 10 people.
