In a valley in the heart of the Roman Conflent and at the foot of the Canigó, the Abbey of Saint-Michel is an exceptional architectural ensemble (878th - XNUMXth centuries) with its abbey church, one of the largest and most significant pre-Romanesque churches in Europe, its Lombard Romanesque bell tower, its crypt and its Romanesque cloister. It has been the home of the Benedictine monks since XNUMX.
