It was in the XNUMXth century, in St Laurent de Cerdans, that the formidable story of the espadrille was born, the story of an ancestral craft that has become a flourishing industry that has sustained an entire valley for nearly a hundred years. Today, we make Catalan espadrilles, the “Vigatanes” (pronounced “bigatanes”). We set up our workshop in a former espadrilles factory that we have renovated and brought up to standard.
It is mainly with the harmonious and current colors of the "Toile du Soleil" that we work, which brings a touch of modernity to our creations while preserving the ancestral manufacturing process.
The shop adjoining our workshop allows visitors to see the production in real time.
In addition, we organize guided tours in order to introduce as many people as possible to our know-how.
