This is a magnificent hike on steep paths of the high Pyrenean mountains facing the Mediterranean Sea. This hike is punctuated by 5 guarded refuges and allows you to go around the Canigó Massif classified as a Major Site of France. Finally, it offers the possibility of climbing the Pic (2784 m). It provides very wide views of the Mediterranean, from Sète to the bay of Rosas (southern Catalonia), from the Plaine du Roussillon to the Corbières.

It crosses protected natural areas, the PNR of the Catalan Pyrenees, several Nature Reserves, all guaranteed by the very demanding Grand Site of France label.
Each refuge is directly accessible, independently of the other refuges and can constitute the starting point of your hike in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.

The Conques refuge, having a smaller capacity than the other refuges, can become an optional stage on your route by taking, via the old route, the direction of Pla Guillem to Serrat dels Miquelets.

This summer, you have two options to fully enjoy the GRP Tour of
Canigó:

The "authentic" 4 or 5 day tour via the staffed refuges of Sant Guillem, Les
Conques (option), Marialles, Les Cortalets (bivouac) and Batera,
A 5-day tour starting from Batera, passing through staffed mountain huts or guesthouses.
